Welcome!

We are the Robosapiens, a FIRST Lego League Robotics Team from Washington Middle School in Missoula, Montana.

We're raising money to attend a First Lego League competition at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts this June.

On this website, you can read about our team, see sneak peaks of the work we're doing, and donate to our efforts.

LEGO Game

Teams in the First Lego League Challenge Competition design, build, and program a Lego robot to complete a variety of missions in a two-and-a-half-minute game. Our team has improved a lot in our programming and design skills this season. Since September, we have improved in our ability to program using the Python programming language, and we have put our design skills to use to develop elegant and effective attachments that allow us to solve some of the more challenging missions. We did great at our Montana competitions, and we are working hard to get even better as we prepare for this world class challenge!

Innovation Project

The Innovation Project is a second major part of the competition. Our team develops and presents a solution to a real-world problem based on the competition’s annual theme. This year’s theme is about problems faced by people who explore the ocean. Our Innovation Project is an autonomous robotic shark that seeks out and captures plastic pollution in sensitive marine ecosystems.
